Tee’s Journey

F A M I L Y
We do it all with the support and love of our families. Husband Stacy, and children Kenzie, Milan, and CJ.

My journey here started simply enough. During the early days of the pandemic in 2020, I was bored and decided to go with my best friend to have a mammogram and grab lunch.

Two weeks later, I got a phone call with the results: I had triple-negative breast cancer.

Just two months prior, I opened my own skincare studio after being certified as an aesthetician. After the diagnosis, however, I shut the business down and got ready for the journey of a lifetime.

Through genetic testing, I found I tested positive for the BRCA1 gene, which meant that I had to have a bilateral mastectomy even though the cancer was only on the left side.

That journey started with a bilateral mastectomy followed by three ports, expanders, eight surgeries, 20 rounds of chemo and radiation, and countless additional surgeries due to infections. I watched how my mind was changing and I knew I would never be the same.

After Radiation…

After radiation, I watched my skin change and knew it would also never be the same. Putting prescription steroid cream on my skin and going to the doctor seemingly every other day, just so they could give me another prescription, was exhausting. I needed to do something about it.

I prayed on it tremendously. Over and over, and one day I woke up out and knew what I was supposed to do. As much as I wanted to go back and open up another skincare suite, I realized it was time for me to get back and share my experiences.

This is where Pinky, The Mobile Skin Coach was born. My goal was to create a mobile, healthy skin care unit, converted from an ordinary sprinter van, camper, or RV. This way, I could provide my services as an aesthetician, certified oncology aesthetician, and a life coach to provide support for women going through cancer treatment themselves.

I can literally meet women where they are physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Creating Pinky…

A mobile skin care unit allows me to bring my services to patients’ homes, offices, or wherever they are. When you’re feeling vulnerable, the last thing you want to do is drive out to a physical office or salon, especially when immunocompromised.

My goal is for this mobile skincare unit to be a safe space, where you are treated by someone who truly understands what you’re going through. I’ve been there. As much as I love my team of doctors, it can be easier to seek advice and coaching from someone who has experienced the same or similar things as you have.

Our plan is simple: to provide free skincare like facials, makeup, and skin treatment around the breast area, provide products, as well as free cancer coaching/counseling to anyone in need. Cancer is a tough go. Mentally, physically, and financially. As we grow, our goal is to provide resources for those who need financial assistance, help with paperwork, and applications, food delivery services, wigs, classes, and more.

It may have started with my story, but my dream for PiNKY! The Mobile Skin Coach is to help women across the country fall back in love with their skin. Cancer is just a part of your story, it’s not the story.
